Studio 220's PS 58 Artists as a Part of AGAST!

Fourth grade is working on a very exciting project.  This year, with the gracious help of parent David Lantow, we are going to have a gallery show that is a part of the Annual Gowanus Artists Studio Tour!  Fourth graders are hard at work creating mixed media works about their hopes and dreams for the Gowanus Canal.  We have been talking about what we know about the canal, and what we hope it can one day become with clean up efforts.  The students have some really awesome ideas!  In the spirit of this project, a parent has alerted me that this event is happening this weekend:

Volunteer Monthly Clean-Ups

Clean and Green
Join your family, friends and neighbors in greening the banks of the Gowanus Canal and your neighborhood! Clean-ups are scheduled for the following Saturdays: May 30June 27,July 25, August 22, September 19 and October 17

Ask your fourth graders what we are working on and encourage them to find out more about the Gowanus Canal!


The show will be on the tour at 498 Court Street.  It will be open both Saturday Oct. 17 and Sunday Oct. 18 from 1-6.  The opening reception for the show will be on the 17th from 5 to 7. It will be great!
