Fifth grade artists have been working hard on their character development. Here are three excellent examples of work (by Safia, Momoko and Maximo) that were colored with traditional materials.
Students are also working on coloring their work with digital media in Photoshop. Next, we will create 3D environments for our characters inspired by Andrea Dezso. Awesome!
Welcome to the South School Art Studio blog! I am an art teacher at South School in New Canaan, CT. In the South School Art Studio, I make masterpieces and messes with hundreds of artists and designers in grades K through 4. My teaching emphasizes incorporating contemporary artists into our curriculum, material explorations and student-directed art making. This is a place where everyone can see what we are up to.
This blog is primarily for the PS 58 community. I hope that families will keep up with what is happening in the studio and with everything that we are looking at. I want to increase the home-school collaboration in the arts so that they become not just a once-a-week activity but part of the students' everyday lives. I hope it works!
