I cannot believe it has been so long since I put work on the blog! The kids have been so busy working and I have been taking tons of photos, but there is never enough time! Today I am going to get it together and put up a few posts. Get ready!!!
First, here are the finished animal heads. I wrote about the process here and here, so this is what the kids came up with:
They all came out amazing. Great work 4th graders!
Welcome to the South School Art Studio blog! I am an art teacher at South School in New Canaan, CT. In the South School Art Studio, I make masterpieces and messes with hundreds of artists and designers in grades K through 4. My teaching emphasizes incorporating contemporary artists into our curriculum, material explorations and student-directed art making. This is a place where everyone can see what we are up to.
This blog is primarily for the PS 58 community. I hope that families will keep up with what is happening in the studio and with everything that we are looking at. I want to increase the home-school collaboration in the arts so that they become not just a once-a-week activity but part of the students' everyday lives. I hope it works!
